CHARLOTTESVILLE – University of Virginia novice eights finished first and second on November 2 in competition against Georgetown University’s novices at the Rivanna Reservoir.

Virginia’s “A” boat finished first in the competition with a time of 15:50.2 and the Cavaliers’ “B” boat was second with a time of 15:53.4. Georgetown’s “C” boat finished third with a time of 16:25.0 followed by Georgetown “A” (16:25.7), Virginia “C” (16:34.7), Virginia “D” (16:51.8) and Georgetown ‘B” (16:55.6).

UVa’s “A” boat was comprised of Abby Sylvester, Kim Maxfield, Lexie Zaborowski, Anna Capetanakis, Emily Magee, Nicole Numbers, Lauren Cruickshank, Bridget Barry and Pam Brown.

The Cavaliers’ “B” boat was made up of Janice Verbosky, Christina Berry, Catherine Thrasher, Daphne Allen, Lauren Frick, Carrie Hatter, Carla Swartley, Monica Martinez and Charlotte Walker.

Virginia’s ‘C” boat was comprised of Kristina Caudle, Jodi Neuhasuer, Heather Swindell, Martha Adams, Kara Truhe, Emily Domenech, Mary Copland, Emily Todd and Jana Hester.

UVa’s “D” boat was made up of Sarah Raymond, Brittany Gjormand, Kelly Sparks, Kelly Flory, Katie McDade, Maggie McInerney, Kara Suhey, Holly Gurgle and Amanda Tuck.

The final competition of the fall season for the Virginia women’s rowing team is on Sunday (Nov. 10) when the Cavaliers’ host the Rivanna Romp at the Rivanna Reservoir. The competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
