Virginia’s McGavock Dunbar and David Sullivan both hit personal bests in their competition today and placed in their respective events as the Cavaliers competed in t he Kroger Invitational held today at Virginia Tech. Dunbar’s time in the 800m run of 1:50.46 garnered him fifth place while Sullivan took third in the high jiump with a leap of 6′ 8.75???. All-American Kiamesha Otey placed in two events today, taking third in the long jump with a leap of 20′ .5??? and finished sixth in the 60m dash, running 7.56. The Cavaliers also earned a pair of fourth-place finishes as Jolene Hampson ran 4:58.42 in the mile and Eliese Mitchell threw 48′ 4.5??? in the shot pu t.

Virginia also earned a pair of ninth-place finishes as Sarah Folse ran the mile in 5:04.42 and Jane Maxwell ran a 9:58.61 in the 3000m run.

Dunbar’s time, a personal best in the 800m run, just missed the provisional mark for the NCAA Championships.
