Cavaliers To Compete in the Virginia Open

Charlottesville, VA-On Saturday, November 8, the Cavalier men’s and women’s cross country teams will be competing in the Virginia Open at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, VA (directions can be found on virginiasports.com). The event will host teams from William and Mary, Duke, Virginia, and Georgetown. The men’s race will begin at 10:45 am, followed by the women’s race at 11:30. Fans can enter to win Virginia t-shirts, a Sony armband Walkman, and Domino’s and Arch’s Frozen Yogurt gift certificates.

After a third place finish last weekend at the ACC Championships, the Cavalier men’s team will be looking to secure another top finish. The men will be led by Will Christian and Walton Kingsbery. The men’s team who have been ranked as high as #15 this season will be competing against #9 Georgetown University and #29 William and Mary.

The top two finishers for the women’s team at the ACC Championships last weekend, Jane Maxwell and Angie Saterstad, will be looking again to lead the pack on Saturday. The women’s team who have been ranked as high as #20 this season will be competing against #16 Georgetown University and #25 Duke University.
