CHARLOTTESVILLE – Due to the overwhelming popularity of the CavMan character, virginiasports.com has devoted an entire page to the mascot. Fans are able to send him questions, read CavMan’s notebook, and even suggest names for his horse, which will be decided later this year in an online poll.

CavMan plays an integral part of the pride and spirit that UVA fans exhibit in Scott Stadium. His team entrance videos before home football games get the crowd ready to cheer the Cavaliers on to victory. His presence is now being extended from the field of play to the World Wide Web.

UVA fans will be able to access videos from past home games. If you don’t get to the game early enough to see it live, you can always check it out later at CavMan’s Corner.

One key aspect of the new site is the “Name CavMan’s Horse” section. Although CavMan has always ridden his horse into battle and onto the field at football games, his horse has always been left out of the spotlight. Now, with the permission of CavMan himself, fans can e-mail their name suggestions. CavMan will select his favorite names and then put them in a fan poll on the virginiasports.com home page. The name with the highest number of votes will be CavMan’s horse’s new name.

Make sure you go to CavMan’s corner and check out all of the features on the new page. The link can be found under “Inside Cavalier Athletics” on the right side of the virginiasports.com home page.
