CHARLOTTESVILLE – University of Virginia men’s head basketball coach Pete Gillen has announced the signing of two individuals to national letters of intent with Virginia. The two individuals are 6-7 small forward Adrian Joseph of Trinidad and 5-11 point guard Sean Singletary of Philadelphia, Pa.

“These two young men are outstanding students as well as very talented basketball players,” Gillen said. “They will fit in perfectly in our pressing and running style of play.”

Joseph is attending Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., this academic year after attending Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J., last year. He averaged 15.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots a game during the 2002-03 season. He earned first-team All-League and All-County honors, and third-team All-State honors.

Singletary averaged 18 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and 4.5 steals a game as a junior at William Penn Charter School last season. He earned first-team All-League and All-City honors last year. Penn Charter finished the 2002-03 season with an overall record of 26-4 and won the league championship.
