Katie Jo Gerfen Earns All-American Honors

Virginia field hockey captain Katie Jo Gerfen (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was named to a pair of All-American teams as announced by various organizations today. Gerfen was named to the STX-NFHCA All-American third team and the womensfieldhockey.com second team. This is the first All-American designation for Gerfen. Gerfen started all 20 games for the Cavaliers and ranked second on the team in scoring with 7 goals and 9 assists. Gerfen led the Cavaliers with four game-winning goals and had two game-winning assists. She was previously named to the All-South Region second team in 2001.
