HONOLULU (AP)LaTonya Blue scored 16 points to lead four scorers in doublefigures, and Virginia upset No. 21 Arizona 70-65 Friday in the first round ofthe Rainbow Wahine Classic.

Anna Prillaman added 14 points, Brandi Teamer 13 and Kate Kreager 10 for theCavaliers (2-1), who shot 50 percent on 27-of-53 shooting.

With Arizona (1-2) trailing 67-65, Blue tipped a pass intended for theWildcats’ Shawntinice Polk and the Cavaliers gained possession of the looseball with 1:16 remaining. Blue hit a turnaround jumper in the lane on the nextplay with 54 seconds left to seal the victory.

Polk, who played just five minutes in the first half because of foultrouble, led Arizona with 14 points. Dee-Dee Wheeler added 12.

Virginia used a pair of nine-point runs to pull away from the Wildcats inthe first half and led 31-27 at the break. Virginia continued to maintain itslead in the second half, but Arizona kept it close with Polk in the lineup.
