CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team opens the spring portion of its 2003-04 schedule on Saturday, March 6, against Duke University in Bahama, N.C. The regatta is scheduled to begin at noon on Lake Michie.

Last spring, Virginia won its fourth consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and finished sixth as a team at the NCAA Championships. UVa is one of just four schools to compete in each of the seven NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships.

The Cavaliers’ first varsity eight crew finished fifth at the 2003 NCAA Championships.

Virginia’s first home regatta of the spring season is scheduled for March 13 when the Cavaliers host Columbia at the Rivanna Reservoir. The regatta is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
