Two Cavaliers Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

Virginia field hockey players Katherine Blair (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) and Alyssa Curmaci were both named to the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association National Academic Squad as announced by the organization. It is the second consecutive year that Blair has been so honored, while Curmaci earns the distinction as a first year at The University.

Blair earned her second consecutive NFHCA National Academic Squad designation in her second year at the University. She was named to the USA Under-21 team in January after being a member of the USA Under-19 team that took third at the Cal Cup in May, 2003.

Curmaci earned this designation in her first year at UVa. A four-time National Futures participant, Curmaci played in 19 of the Cavaliers’ 20 games in the fall of 2003.
