Virginia Finishes 11th at Morris Williams

AUSTIN, Texas – The Virginia men’s golf team finished 11th at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Brigham Young captured the team title after firing a six-under 858. Texas Christian followed with a four-under 860, while Oklahoma State was third with a three-under 861. The Cavaliers shot a 299 in the final round to finish with a 883 (+19).

Arkansas’ Andrew Dahl took home medalist honors with his 10-under 206. Texas’ Jason Hartwick was second with a six-under 210. Four players tied for third with a five-under 211.

Sophomore Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) paced UVa with two-under 214 to tie for 12th. Sophomore Eamonn McLoughlin (Amityville, N.Y.) shot a 221 (+5) to tie for 33rd, while junior Kevin O’Connell (Potomac, Md.) followed with a 223 (+7). Freshman Daniel McGurk (Woodlands, Texas) shot a 227 (+11), and senior Jeremy Luce (Austin, Texas) rounded out the scoring with a 228 (+12).

Virginia will participate in the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State, on April 9-10 in Raleigh, N.C.
