Virginia Plays At Villanova In Second Round Of The NIT

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia men’s basketball team plays Villanova University in the second round of the 2004 National Invitation Tournament on Saturday (March 20) in Villanova, Pa. Game time is 11:00 a.m. and the game will be televised by ESPN2.

Virginia fans can purchase tickets through the Villanova Ticket Office by calling 610-519-4100. A limited number of tickets are available for the event.

Virginia defeated George Washington University 79-66 and Villanova beat Drexel University 85-70 in first round games in the NIT on Wednesday (March 17).

Virginia leads the series with Villanova 4-1. The schools have not met in men’s basketball since Virginia won at Villanova 83-80 in the first round of the 1992 NIT. UVa went on to win the NIT championship that year.
