Virginia Softball Set To Open Home Portion Of 2004 Schedule

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia softball team opens the home portion of its 2004 season by hosting five teams in the Cavalier Classic Friday through Sunday, March 19-21 at The Park. In addition to Virginia, the Cavalier Classic features Campbell, LaSalle, Rutgers, Towson and Youngstown State. The three-day round-robin tournament will be played on two different fields at The Park.

Virginia opens the Cavalier Classic on Friday (March 19) by hosting Rutgers at 1:00 p.m. The Cavaliers also play Youngstown State at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be played on Field 1. On Saturday, UVa hosts LaSalle at 1:00 p.m. and Towson at 3:00 p.m.

The Cavaliers stand at 13-14 on the season. Campbell is 13-12 on the season, while LaSalle is 3-9 and Rutgers is 6-7. Towson stands at 9-9 and Youngstown State is 10-6 in 2004.
