ST. LOUIS, Missouri – University of Virginia wrestling team members Scott Moore (Franklin, Pa./Franklin Academy) and Tim Foley (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) competed in their second matches at the 2004 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at the Savvis Center.

Moore, ranked #1 in the country and seeded #1 at 141-pounds, posted his second victory of the event and improved his record to 48-0 overall after pinning Cal Poly SLO’s Steve Esparza at 1:14. Foley, ranked #11 in the nation and seeded #11 at 165-pounds, suffered his first loss at Nationals after Hofstra’s Ralph Everett earned a hard-fought 5-4 decision.

Moore is now 48-0 on the year with 32 wins coming by fall and will face Indiana’s #8 seeded Coyte Cooper in the next round at 141-pounds. Foley, who now stands 35-5 on the season, will face Cornell’s Joe Mazzurco in the consolations bracket at 165-pounds.
