(Somewhere in ‘Hoo-Ville) – Greetings Cavaliers fans! Can you believe that spring football practice has already begun? Charlottesville is abuzz with Wahoo fever! It seems like just yesterday that I was celebrating the victory over Pittsburgh in the Continental Tire Bowl.

A wise man once said that the more things change, the more they stay the same. This is true with the new installation of football players wearing the orange and blue. Although key players from the squad are departing from this great institution known as the University of Virginia, some meaningful youngsters are back and ready to lead the Wahoos on and off the field next season. They will no doubt show the same commitment to excellence as their predecessors.

On April 17th at 11am, the Spring Football Festival will be held at Scott Stadium. Make sure you come out early to support the Cavalier football program. The team is scheduled to take the field at 12:30pm. However, do not miss out on the festivities before the team takes the field! Among the events will be an official presentation to announce the name of my horse that fans voted on last fall.

There are also plenty of chances to check out the football team in action before April 17th. There are open practices on Sunday April 4 at 2:15 p.m. and on Friday, April 9 at 4 p.m. Come out and see what it means to be a Virginia Cavalier and the work ethic of elite athletes.

That is all for now from ‘Hoo-Ville. Be well.
