GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team’s second varsity eight crew is the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week for its performance against Ohio State University and the University of Michigan last Saturday (April 10).

UVa’s second varsity eight defeated both Ohio State and Michigan during a regatta at Lake Monticello. The Cavaliers finished with a time of 6:45.2 to defeat Ohio State (6:49.2) in the morning session. In the afternoon session, Virginia had a time of 6:55.0 to defeat Michigan (7:02.7).

The Cavaliers’ second varsity eight crew was comprised of Kerry Maher, Julie Creighton, Carolyn McMillan, Kelley Jesnig, Heather Gardner, Libby McCann, Katie Yrazabal, Emily Richard and coxswain Danielle Sewell.

The Virginia women’s rowing team competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships on Saturday (April 17) in Clemson, S.C. UVa has won four consecutive ACC Championships.
