Greensboro, N.C. – Tillman Johnson has been named this week’s ACC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, after holding Duke to only three goals in the Cavaliers’ 13-4 win over the Blue Devils on Saturday.

Johnson, a native of Annapolis, Md., was outstanding in goal, recording 13 saves while allowing only three goals before being replaced to a rousing ovation with less than three minutes to play. The Blue Devils’ four goals are the fewest they have scored in a game since 1992.

The senior saved five of Duke’s 13 shots in the first half as the Cavaliers built a 7-3 lead at the break. Duke tied the score at three just 50 seconds into the second quarter, but Johnson and his defensive mates kept the Blue Devils off the scoreboard for the next 42:53.

The Cavaliers return to action this Friday against North Carolina at 8:30 pm in the second semifinal contest of the ACC Tournament, hosted by UNC.
