Virginia Baseball Reaches Highest Ranking As Cavaliers Climb In National Polls

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia baseball team (36-9 overall, 14-4 in the ACC) received its highest ranking in school history thanks to its #7 ranking in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll for the week of May 3rd. Virginia is also ranked #15 by Baseball America and #18 in the Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top-25 polls.
UVa’s previous highest ranking occurred one week ago when Collegiate Baseball tabbed the Cavaliers as the #10 ranked team in the country on April 26th.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll for this week has not yet been released, but had Virginia ranked #20 last week.
