Virginia’s Alex Tatu ran the fastest time yet in the 1500m for the Cavaliers and qualfied for the NCAA East Regional meet in the process with his 3:46.63. Tomika Ferguson also qualified for the NCAA East Regional, jumping a season-best 40′ 6.25″. Four teammates also fared well, setting season-best marks as Virginia continued to prepare for the NCAA East Regional meet, which will take place May 28-29 in Gainesville, Fla. Inge Jorgensen was one of those Cavaliers, who took runner-up honors in the javelin with her season-best 177′ 10″, which ranks in the top-five in the nation.

Gemayel Hazard also ran a season-best for Virginia with his 14.45 in the 110 hurdles while Scott Robinson equalled his best season-best while Isi Azeke improved his time in the same event. Ryan Neuhart set the UVa best time this season in the steeplechase with his 9:13.00. Walton Kingsbery set his best times in both the 800m and the 1500m this weekend as well.

Sharon O’Connor also lowered her Virginia-best time this season to 4:26.17 in the 1500. She had previously qualified for the regional meet with her time at the ACC Championships. Teammate Shannon Hawrylo also set her top time this season with a 4:30.52. Caroline Harvey took sixth in the long jump competition with her 19′ 6″.
