CHARLOTTESVILLE – Former University of Virginia rower Molly Baker will represent the United States at the 2004 World Rowing Championships in Banyoles, Spain, the first week of August. Baker, a 2003 UVa graduate, will row in the women’s straight four.

Baker, who is from Burke, Va., earned All-South Region and All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors her senior season at Virginia in 2003. She rowed with the Cavaliers’ first varsity eight that finished first at the ACC Championships and at the Central/South Region Sprints that year. UVa’s first varsity eight finished fifth at the 2003 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. Baker was the stroke of UVa’s first varsity eight at the Central/South Region Sprints and the NCAA Championships.

Baker was a member of Virginia crews that won ACC Championships in the first varsity eight in 2002 and the second varsity eight in 2001. The first varsity eight crew finished 10th at the 2002 NCAA Championships and the second varsity eight crew finished fourth at the 2001 NCAA Championships.
