GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Virginia volleyball team is the sixth seed in the 2004 Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Championship, which takes place November 18-21 at UVa’s Memorial Gym. The Cavaliers will play 11th-seeded N.C. State in the first round on Thursday evening (November 18) at 7:30 p.m.

Virginia enters the 2004 ACC Championship with an 18-10 overall record and concluded regular season ACC play with an 8-8 mark. The Wolfpack stand at 10-20 overall and 0-16 in the ACC. The winner of Thursday’s match advances to Friday’s 7:30 p.m. quarterfinal against third-seeded Duke.

The Cavaliers won the only 2004 regular season meeting with N.C. State 3-1 (30-18, 34-36, 30-17, 30-22) on October 2 in Raleigh. Virginia leads the all-time series against the Wolfpack 24-19. The Cavaliers have won 18 consecutive meetings in the series.
