CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s golf team has received two National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, head coach Bowen Sargent announced on Friday.

Daniel Kefale (Woodbridge, Va.) and Conrad Von Borsig (Swarthmore, Pa.) will play golf for the Cavaliers next season.

“We are excited to have signed Conrad and Daniel. Both are exceptional young men, excelling in the classroom as well as on the golf course,” Sargent said. “I feel Conrad and Daniel will compliment an already talented returning class. The University of Virginia is honored to have these two young men. We look forward to building a great future with the addition of this signing class.”

Kefale is the 2004 VSGA Junior Amateur champion. He also qualified for the US Junior Amateur Qualifier where he participated in match play. The Virginia High School Class AAA state champion plays for Osborne Park High School in Manassas.

Von Borsig is an All-Delaware County and All-Southeastern Pennsylvania honoree from Strath Haven High School. The team captain helped his squad to consecutive Central League Championships in 2003 and 2004. Nationally, Von Borsig has placed in the Top 10 in four AJGA tournaments. He finished sixth from 105 competitors at the U.S. Open Qualifier at Pine Hill.

Virginia has completed its fall schedule and will resume action on March 6-8 at the Seminole Intercollegiate.
