CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia wrestling program will have select members of the team competing in three different events for the weekend of December 3-5. Ten UVa wrestlers will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the 2004 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on December 3-4. Six Cavaliers will travel to State College, Pa. to compete in the 2004 Nittany Lion Open on December 5th at Penn State University, while five UVa wrestlers will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to compete in the 2004 Irwin-Carolina Open on December 4th at the University of North Carolina.

The Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational is one of the most prestigious wrestling events in the country. Virginia will send Adam Kimbrell, Steve Hromada, Chet Naylor, Paul Dunstan, Paul Bjorlo, Will Durkee, Rocco Caponi, Kyle Narkiewicz, Scott Smith and Nick Smith to face some of the top competition in the country at the event.

UVa will send Anthony Burke, Byron Dunlap, Zach Rosson, Jim Hartey, Damian Johnson and Andrew Leffler to compete in the Nittany Lion Open. The Cavaliers will also send Paul Bowman, Conor Manley, Drew Michelotti, Mike Grogan and Brendan Raedy to compete in the Irwin-Carolina Open.

Virginia is 2-1 overall this season and is coming off the heels of a strong sixth place finish at Cornell University’s Body Bar Invitational on November 20th. Following this weekend’s competitions, UVa will return to dual match action and will compete in its first Atlantic Coast Conference dual match of the season when Virginia travels to Blacksburg, Va. to face the Virginia Tech Hokies in an ACC dual match on Friday, December 10th at 7:00 PM.
