CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 51 ranked Virginia women’s tennis team suffered a 4-3 loss to No. 49 Penn Saturday night at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The loss drops the Cavaliers’ record to 2-2 on the season.

Virginia took the lead early by taking the doubles point. In singles, Penn tied the match at 1-1 with a win at No. 2 before Virginia retook the lead when No. 67 Srebrovic won a battle of ranked players at No. 1, topping No. 84 Julia Koulbitskaya 5-7, 6-0, 6-1. After the Quakers tied the match again at 2-2, the Cavaliers took the lead once more when James posted a straight set win at No. 3.
