CHARLOTTESVILLE – The third-ranked Virginia men’s tennis team begins a three-match homestand at the Snyder Tennis Center Thursday afternoon when it hosts William & Mary at 3:30 p.m. The Cavaliers enter the match on an 11-match home winning streak, dating back to last season, which ties the school record streak set during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
It will be the 63rd all-time meeting between the Cavaliers and the Tribe, with Virginia holding a 52-9-1 advantage in the series. Virginia has played William & Mary more than any other non-conference opponent. Virginia has won the last two matches in the series and 25 of the last 26 meetings of the schools.
Virginia is coming off a pair off ACC wins on the road last weekend. On Friday, the Cavaliers downed then No. 37 NC State 7-0 in Raleigh before topping then No. 25 Wake Forest 6-1 on Sunday.
On Sunday, the Cavalier men’s and women’s tennis teams will have a doubleheader at the Snyder Tennis Center. The Virginia women’s tennis team hosts sixth-ranked Georgia Tech at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. That match will be followed by the Cavalier men’s team hosting Miami at 1:00 p.m.
Admission is free at all regular season home men’s and women’s tennis matches.
