Virginia Stands 10th at Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The Virginia women’s golf team stands 10th after the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Friday.
Top ranked Duke and No. 4 Georgia share the lead with a four-under 284 each. No. 15 Florida is third with a 290 (+2), while No. 10 Tennessee follows by one stroke with a 291 (+3). The Cavaliers shot a 304 (+16) to stand 10th of the 17 teams.
Duke’s Elizabeth Janangelo fired a five-under 67 to lead all players. Three players are tied for second with a three-under 69 each.
Sophomores Rachel Smith (Powell, Tenn.) and sophomore Leah Wigger (Louisville, Ky.) lead UVa with a 75 (+3) each to tie for 32nd. Freshman Lauren Mielbrecht (Gulf Stream, Va.) and sophomore Sally Shonk (Noblesville, Ind.) are tied for 49th with a 77 (+5) apiece. Sophomore Lindsay Robinson (Huntington, W.V.) followed by two strokes with a 79 (+2).
The second round of Bryan National Collegiate tees off at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2.
