Cavaliers Compete at Duke Relays

Virginia track and field athletes Shannon Hawrylo and Janine Ricci both set PRs in their respective events and qualified for the NCAA Regional meet with their performances in the Duke Relays this weekend in Durham, NC. Hawrylo ran a personal best 4:25.13 and qualified for the NCAA Regional meet. Ricci also set a personal best, breaking her previous mark by 12 seconds, and qualified for the NCAA Regional meet. Both marks rank in the top-10 this season in the ACC as well.
Other personal bests set included Katie Tershel in the triple jump, in which she leapt 37′ 10.75″ and ranks in the top-10 this season in the ACC. Sara Ensrud and Huma Husain both moved into the top-10 in the ACC with their performances at Duke, while Rachel Marks set a team-leading mark in the long jump with her 18′ 11.75″ and moved into the top-10 in the ACC.
On the men’s side, Michael Hagos set a PR with his 1:54.14 and moved into the top-10 in the ACC, while Devin Canaday also set a PR in the 110 m hurdles.
