Tilley Fires 69 in First Round of U.S. Amateur

ARDMORE, Pa. – Virginia senior Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) fired a one-under 69 in first round action of the 2005 U.S. Amateur, held at the Philadelphia Country Club.

Tilley is tied for fifth overall from the 210 competitors.

Senior Carter Henderson (Nashville, Tenn.) and junior Eamonn McLoughlin (Amityville, N.Y.) each shot a 75 (+5) during the opening round.

The first two days will be played at the Philadelphia Country Club and the Merion Golf Club. The U.S. Amateur continues through Sunday, August 28 at the historic Merion Golf Club in suburban Philadelphia.
