GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Virginia men’s basketball team’s 2005-06 schedule was released by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday (August 23). The schedule features 14 home games in the Cavaliers’ final season in University Hall. UVa’s John Paul Jones Arena is scheduled to be open for the 2006-07 season.

Virginia opens its 2005-06 season with a home game against Liberty University on November 18. UVa plays eight ACC home games including games with Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. In addition to Liberty, the Cavaliers also play non-conference opponents Fordham, Hartford, Longwood, Loyola (Md.) and Northwestern in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at home. Virginia has a neutral site game against UMBC at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.

Virginia’s road schedule includes games with ACC opponents Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech. The Cavaliers play non-conference road games at Arizona, Gonzaga, Richmond and Western Kentucky.

The ACC Tournament is scheduled for March 9-12 in Greensboro, N.C.
