Virginia Stands for Fifth at The Derby Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. – The Virginia women’s golf team stands fifth of 17 teams after the second round of The Derby Invitational on Saturday.
Top-ranked Duke leads the field with a 588 (+12), while host Auburn is second with a 593 (+17). Tennessee is third with a 594 (+28). The Cavaliers shot a 306 on the day for a 606 (+27) total.
Individually, Auburn’s Maria Martinez continues to lead all players with a three-under 141. Duke’s Anna Grzebien and Alabama’s Jenny Suh are tied for second with a 145 (+1) each.
Junior Leah Wigger (Louisville, Ky.) is tied for fifth with a 147 (+3). Sophomore Lauren Mielbrecht (Gulf Stream, Fla.) is tied for 18th with a 150 (+6). Junior Rachel Smith (Powell, Tenn.) is tied for 33rd with a154 (+10).Junior Lindsay Robinson (Huntington, W.V.) and freshman Carly Truitt (Marysville, Ohio) follow by one stroke with a 155 (+11) to tie for 41st.
Final round action at The Derby Invitational tees off on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 8:30 a.m. CST.
