Virginia Women’s Lacrosse head coach Julie Myers has announced the signing of eight players to national letters of intent during the early signing period. The eight players hail from three different states, including Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania. “This recruiting class includes many of the best players in the country,” said Myers. “The combination of speed, athleticism and talent should continue to keep Virginia women’s lacrosse in the hunt for both ACC and NCAA titles for many years to come.”

In the class are goalkeeper Lauren Benner (Annapolis, MD/Severn School/CCLax); Kaitlin Duff (Bethesda, MD/Stone Ridge School/ Future Elite); midfield attacker Brittany Kalkstein (Baltimore, MD/ Roland Park Country School/Skywalker); midfielder Marye Kellermann (Towson, MD/Maryvale Preparatory School/Skywalker); midfielder Allison (Allo) Perry (Terrace Park, OH/Mariemont/X Team); midfielder Elizabeth (Missy) Sunseri (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon/X Team); defender Katelyn Strasdauskas (Fallston, MD/John Carroll HS/NBC); attacker Caitlin (Caity) Whiteley (Phoenix, MD/St. Paul’s School/NBC).

“Each of these future Virginia student-athletes bring different styles and experiences to the field and into the program,” said head coach Julie Myers. “When this class arrives in Charlottesville next fall, they are sure to fit right in with our returning squad which will make our future fun, fast and incredibly talented. With hard work on the field and in the classroom, we are sure to be among the best of the best.”
