This Week
Virginia returns to action after an 11-day break for final exams. The Cavaliers travel to Richmond on Sunday, Dec. 18 for a 2 p.m. game. The Virginia Sports Network will broadcast the game with Jed Williams on play-by-play and Myron Ripley on color commentary.

UVa then hosts Marshall on Tuesday, Dec. 20 in a 7 p.m. contest at University Hall.

Scouting Richmond
The Spiders, under the tutelage of first-year head coach Michael Shafer, stand 3-5 after a 63-47 win over Harvard on Dec. 11. Senior guard Saona Chapman paces the squad with 12.4, while sophomore forward Mirna Mazic adds 10.1 ppg and a team-best 6.7 rpg.

Series vs. Spiders
Virginia owns a 9-2 series edge over Richmond since the team’s first met in 1980. In their last meeting on Nov. 27, 2004, in Charlottesville, Richmond captured a 66-57 win at University Hall.

Scouting Marshall
The Thundering Herd, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Royce Chadwick, stand 4-3 after a 72-66 win over Wright State on Dec. 13. Senior guard Sikeetha Shepard-Hall paces the squad with 15.7, while junior center Modupe Ishola adds 11.7 ppg and a team-best 8.3 rpg. Marshall hosts East Carolina on Dec. 16 prior to visiting Charlottesville.

Series vs. Thundering Herd
Virginia captured a 105-73 win over Marshall in the teams’ only meeting on Dec. 3, 1993, at University Hall.

After six contests, junior Siedah Williams leads the Cavaliers (5-1) with 11.3 points per game. Sophomore Takisha Granberry follows with 10.0 ppg. Senior Tiffany Sardin adds 9.7 ppg. Sophomore Sharneé Zoll leads UVa with 29 assists. Freshman Lyndra Littles grabs a team-best 7.0 rpg. UVa out-scores its opponents by +12.1 points and out-rebounds foes by +1.8 boards.
