Virginia school record holder David Sullivan won the pole vault competition with a leap of 16′ .75″, leading a 1-3-7 finish for the Cavaliers. David Lewis took home the bronze with a vault of 15′ 7″ and first-year Stephen Thompson finished seventh with his 14′ 7.25″. The men’s and women’s distance medley teams both took second, while Lauretta Dezubay (mile) and Emily Harrison (3000m) both finished with silvers as well. The women’s 4x400m team closed out the competition with a runner-up finish, running a 3:44.73.

The women’s DMR team of Danielle Light, Tiffany Roberts, Eryn Correa and Sara Casscells ran a 12:25.63 to take seconds, while the men’s quartet of Jordan Orr, Reuben Jones, Sam Fletcher and Michael Hagos ran a 10:22.06 to take home runner-up honors. Distance teammates Harrison and Dezubay also finished second, as Harrison ran a personal-best 9:54.75 and Dezubay ran 5:06.79. On the men’s side, both first-year Andrew Jesien and fourth-year Kevin McHale also hit personal-best marks, as Jesien ran 8:34.77 in the 3K and McHale ran a 4:11.72 in the mile.

First-year Talia Wise moved into the top-five all-time performers in the 60m as she took third in the dash with a 7.62. Classmate Lauren Echko finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with her 8.89, and Ashley Gore was fifth in the 400m, running a 56.46. School record holder Kellen Blassingame also placed in the quarter, taking third with his 48.27. Gore, Tiffany Roberts, Wise and Erin Crawford combined to run a 3:44.73 to take second in the 4x400m.

First-years Yemi Ayeni and Rob Rankin both scored in the shot put, with Ayeni taking fifth with his 49′ 4.5″ and Rankin just behind him in 6th with his 48′ 4.5″. Isi Azeke took second in the long jump with his 23′ .75″.
