The Lancers, under the guidance of interim head coach Nikki Atkinson, stand 9-15 overall after a 69-56 win over Virginia Union on Feb. 9. Senior forward Ashley Mason paces the squad with 17.7 ppg and 9.0 rpg, while her twin sister Amber Mason follows with 10.9 ppg.
Series vs. Lancers
Virginia and Longwood are tied 4-4 in all-time series action from the 1970s. In the teams’ last meeting in 1979, UVa claimed a 69-38 win in Farmville. This is the first meeting between the teams since Longwood was re-classified into the Division I ranks.
