CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of Virginia softball team’s game against St. John’s on Saturday (Feb. 18) has been canceled along with the rest of Saturday’s Triangle Classic schedule due to the impending inclement weather in the Chapel Hill area. UVa was scheduled to play St. John’s at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The inclement weather could also affect Sunday’s tournament schedule thus Virginia has elected to return to Charlottesville Saturday.

The Cavaliers opened the season with a 2-0 win over Gardner-Webb Friday (Feb. 17) and then notched a 4-2 come-from-behind win over Akron Friday afternoon.

Virginia returns to action Feb. 24-26 when it competes in The Panera Bread Challenge in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Cavaliers open the tournament on Friday (Feb. 24) against Miami-Ohio at 10:00 a.m. and Bowling Green at 12:15 p.m.
