Virginia women’s lacrosse team captain Nikki Lieb, a two-time first-team All-American, was named the ACC Player of the Week after helping the Cavaliers to a victory over Vanderbilt on Sunday (Feb. 19). Lieb led all players with five draw controls, including the final two of the game, and added three caused turnovers as the Cavaliers stayed a Vanderbilt rally. Lieb drew an obstruction to free space foul and converted the free position shot to break a 9-9 tie late in the game and then won the ensuing draw to help Virginia to the win.

Lieb also earned honorable mention Player of the Week honors from insidelacrosse.com and was named to the national honor roll by womenslacrosse.com. She is a two-time All-Conference honoree and has earned first-team All-American honors both in 2004 and 2005.

The Cavaliers will face the Temple Owls on Sunday (Feb 26) at 1:00.
