LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Virginia fourth-year Andrew Barber (Vienna, Va./Marshall) placed 14th in the three-meter diving competition Friday (Mar. 10) at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at the University of Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center. It marked Barber’s highest finish ever at the Zone B Championships. Fourth-year Eric Kelley (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Christian School) was 23rd on the three-meter board.

Barber, who is making his fourth consecutive appearance at the NCAA Zone B Diving Regionals, scored 286.15 points in the preliminaries to finish 15th and advance to the finals. Barber’s combined score of 557.10 points was good for 14th place. In his first Zone B Diving Championship, Kelley tallied 259.65 points to finish 23rd in the three-meter competition.

Barber and Kelley will compete on the one-meter board on Saturday (Mar. 11) beginning at noon.

The NCAA Zone B Diving Championship features the top divers from across the southeast. The top finishers from each of the five zone meets across the country will earn the right to participate in the 2005 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
