Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia men’s golf team completes its spring break in Myrtle Beach when the Cavaliers play in Coastal Carolina’s Jim Hackler Invitational March 12-13. The 54-hole event will take place at the par 72, 6,950-year TPC of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, S.C. The tournament features 36 holes of play Sunday and the final round Monday.

In addition to Coastal Carolina and the Cavaliers, the field for this year’s 15-team tournament features Arkansas, No. 12 East Tennessee State, No. 26 Florida State, Illinois, Kansas State, Michigan State, North Florida, Notre Dame, No. 19 Pepperdine, No. 22 Texas Tech, Toledo, UNC Wilmington and Virginia Tech.

Coastal Carolina won last year’s tournament with a score of 886 while East Tennessee State’s Rhys Davies took medalist honors at 2-under 214.

The Virginia lineup will include Eamonn McLoughlin, Brad Tilley, Conrad Von Borsig, Daniel Kefale and Carter Henderson. John Fizer will compete as a non-scoring individual. Tilley leads the Cavaliers with a 72.78 stroke average.

The Hackler Invitational is UVa’s second spring tournament. The Cavaliers opened the season with an eighth-place finish at Florida State’s Seminole Intercollegiate. That event was won by Coastal Carolina. McLoughlin led UVa with an eighth-place finish in stroke play.
