Brown Summitt, NC – Virginia senior Leah Wigger is tied for second after the first round of play at the Bryan National Collegiate at Bryan Park’s Championships Course just outside of Greensboro. Wigger shot 1-under 71 and is tied with Wake Forest’s Nannette Hill four shots behind Duke’s Elizabeth Janangelo.

Virginia is tied for 12th place in the 16-team field after shooting 24-over 312. Purdue leads the field at 7-over 295 while Duke is second at 298.

Virginia’s Jennie Arseneault is in 40th place at 78 while Lauren Mielbrecht is 67th at 79. Rachel Smith is 73rd at 82 and Carly Truitt shot 85 to place 85th.
