Starsia Named US Lacrosse Coach of the Week

Baltimore, Md. – Men’s lacrosse coach Dom Starsia of the University of Virginia has been selected the US Lacrosse Men’s Coach of the Week for the weekend ending April 2. He will be recognized for this honor on this week’s CSTV lacrosse broadcast–Navy at Maryland men (April 7, 8 p.m.).
Starsia led the top-ranked Cavaliers to a 15-5 win in their ACC opener at No. 3 Maryland on Saturday. The Cavaliers extended their season-opening win streak to 10 games – their longest winning streak in three years. Virginia continues league play with a visit to North Carolina on Saturday.
Georgetown’s Ricky Fried of Georgetown was named the women’s Coach of the Week as his team posted an 8-7 overtime win over North Carolina.
US Lacrosse and CSTV are in the third year of a partnership to help bring college lacrosse to fans around the nation. CSTV has a 26-game schedule of men’s and women’s lacrosse this season, including five NCAA championship games as well as highlight shows from the 2006 US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates National Championships in Dallas, Texas.
