CHARLOTTESVILLE – With a number of intercollegiate athletics events scheduled at the University of Virginia this weekend (May 12-14), the UVa athletics department has identified parking areas for fans planning to attend the various events.

The parking lots around University Hall will be open all weekend on a first-come, first-served basis. The University Hall lots will be open Friday evening and beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Emmet/Ivy parking garage is open Friday evening, all day Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. and on Sunday until 6 p.m. Parking is also available at The Park in the North Grounds area. All areas are free and are park and walk. Click for map.

On Friday the Virginia baseball team plays North Carolina at 7 p.m. at Davenport Field at the Virginia Baseball Stadium in the first game of a three-game series.

Saturday is a particularly busy day. The Virginia men’s tennis team plays Army at 10 a.m. in an NCAA Tournament first round match at the Snyder Tennis Center. Wake Forest plays Kentucky at 1 p.m. in another NCAA Tournament first round tennis match. Virginia and North Carolina play the second game of their baseball series at 1 p.m. and the game will be regionally televised as the ACC Game of the Week. The UVa men’s lacrosse team hosts Notre Dame at Klöckner Stadium at 3:30 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and that game will be televised by ESPNU. The starting times for the baseball and men’s lacrosse games were established by television.

On Sunday, the winners of Saturday’s tennis matches play at noon at the Snyder Tennis Center and the final game of the Virginia-North Carolina baseball series is scheduled for 1 p.m. Also at 1 p.m., the Virginia women’s lacrosse team hosts Princeton at Klöckner Stadium in an NCAA Tournament first round game.

“The success of our spring teams has created a logistical challenge for us,” said UVa Athletics Director Craig Littlepage. “Saturday is particularly challenging because of the televised baseball and men’s lacrosse games. I’m excited about the opportunities for our teams and hope our fans will come out and support them.”
