CHARLOTTESVILLE – Radio station WINA (1070 AM) in Charlottesville will broadcast live the University of Virginia’s baseball game with North Carolina and the men’s lacrosse NCAA Tournament game with Notre Dame on Saturday (May 13). The broadcasts can also be heard on www.virginiasports.com.

The baseball coverage begins at 1 p.m. from Davenport Field at the UVa Baseball Stadium and coverage of the men’s lacrosse game will begin at the conclusion of the baseball broadcast. The lacrosse game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium.

WINA is also scheduled to broadcast the other two games of Virginia’s three-game baseball series with North Carolina. The two teams play Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. in addition to Saturday’s game.

The Virginia baseball team enters this weekend’s three-game series with North Carolina with an overall record of 39-10 and ranked as high as ninth in the nation. The Cavaliers are 16-8 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and are second in the conference’s Coastal Division standings behind North Carolina. The Tar Heels are the top-ranked team in the nation in one poll. They have an overall record of 40-9 and are 18-6 in the ACC.

The UVa men’s lacrosse team is 13-0 and ranked number one in the nation entering its first round NCAA Tournament game with Notre Dame. The Cavaliers won the ACC Tournament Championship last month and were undefeated during the regular season for the first time in the history of the program. Virginia is the top-seeded team in the NCAA Tournament. Notre Dame enters Saturday’s game with an overall record of 10-4.

Mac McDonald will handle the play-by-play for the baseball game on Saturday and Jed Williams has play-by-play responsibilities for the lacrosse game.
