Virginia’s Yemi Ayeni won the IC4A discus title in his first year of collegiate competition, throwing a 181′ 09″ to outpace his runner-up by nine inches. Teammate Tomika Ferguson also earned All-East honors with her fifth place in the long jump. Both women’s relay teams also earned All-East honors as the 4×1 team took third while the 4×4 team finished fourth.

Talia Wise turned in her top times this year in both the 100 and 200, qualifying for the 200m dash finals with her 24.37. Teammate Janne’a Bridgeford also ran Virginia’s fastest time in the 100 this year,just edging Wise 11.81 to 11.85.

Isi Azeke turned in the best time in the 110 hurdles this season with his 14.46, and he was one centimeter short of tying the best long jump performance for Virginia this year with his 6.90m.

Competition continues tomorrow (May 14) in Princeton, N.J.
