Charlottesville, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s lacrosse team faces Georgetown University in the quarterfinals of the 2006 NCAA Championships this Sunday (May 21) at Towson University in Towson, Md. Faceoff is set for 3:00 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPNU.

The Virginia/Georgetown game follows the Princeton vs. Maryland game which is scheduled to start at noon.

The Cavaliers advanced following a 14-10 win over Notre Dame in the first round, while Georgetown defeated Navy 9-7.

Virginia is the only undefeated team remaining in the country and comes into the game with a 14-0 record. Georgetown has won its last four games and stands 12-2 overall this spring.

This is only the second all-time meeting between the two schools. UVa downed the Hoyas 12-7 in the quarterfinals on the way to the 2003 national championship.

Tickets for Sunday’s two quarterfinal games at Towson are $ 15.00 for adults and $ 10.00 for youth 17-and-under. There will be a $ 10.00 fee for on-site parking. Tickets may be purchased at the Towson University Box Office located on the first floor of the University Union. Box Office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Stadium ticket windows open at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
