Virginia’s Mia Link notched a goal in the 57th minute of play to help the Maryland EPTC team move into the finals of the National Championship with a 9-0 win over New England. Both Maryland and New Jersey/Pennsylvania ended round-robin play with a 3-1-1 record, but Maryland advanced to the finals with a +13 goal differential. In other action, Virginia assistant coach Alex Kyser notched an assist on the second goal as Midwest defeated California 5-1.

In the Midwest vs California game, Kyser helped the Midwest defense allow only one goal and one corner in the contest. Christina Kirkaldy had 14 saves in the cage for California, including a pair of point-blank stops in the second half on a 1vKeeper.

Link and Virginia teammate Katherine Blair will play with the Maryland team against top-seeded South in the finals of the EPTC National Championships at 1:00 tomorrow (July 4). Kyser and her Midwest teammates will play in the 3-4 game at 11:15 while Kirkaldy and the rest of the California side will also play at 11:15 in the 5-6 contest.
