Santo Domingo–Virginia All-American Erin Crawford, who set the school record in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships in June, has qualified for the finals of that event at the 2006 North American, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Athletics Championships in Santo Domingo today. Crawford was the top American finisher, running a 58.43 and finishing second overall in the preliminary round. She finished just behind Joseanne Lucar from Trinidad and Tobago, who ran 57.76 and was the top performer in the prelims. Crawford, who ran a 56.87 to take sixth at the NCAA meet, will return to action for Team USA on Sunday at 4:15 in the finals of the intermediates.
