Sargent Shoots 74 to Start Virginia Open

Richmond, VA – University of Virginia men’s golf coach Bowen Sargent shot 2-over 74 during the opening round of play at the 2006 SunTrust State Open at Willow Oaks County Club in Richmond.

Sargent’s score has him in a tie for 47th in the 168-golfer field. Friday will feature the second round of stroke play in the 72-hole event. The field will be cut to the top 75 players plus ties after 36 holes of competition.
