CARPI, Italy – Former Cavalier tennis player Dillon Walker (Tomball, Texas) earned the first ATP doubles points of his career, as he reached the semifinal of the Futures Event last month in Carpi, Italy. Walker teamed with former Texas standout Roger Gubser to win two matches in the doubles draw to reach the semifinals.

Walker, who played for the Cavaliers from 2002 to 2005, has played several Futures Events this summer in Europe with Gubser, who was his teammate in high school.

In Carpi, the duo cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 over Trent Broach and Benjamin Stewart in the first round. In the quarterfinals, they upset the tournament’s top seed, Alessandro Da Col and Ismar Gorcic, both ranked in the top 400 of the world doubles rankings, 6-0, 6-1. In the semifinals, their run came to an end with a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Sergei Demekhine and Luca Vanni.

Walker earned four ATP doubles points for his performance in the tournament.
