Charlottesville, VA – Former Virginia quarterback Tim Sherman will join the Virginia Sports Radio Network this fall as sideline reporter and pregame analyst.

“Tim is a terrific addition to our radio broadcast team,” said Mac McDonald, Voice of the Cavaliers. “As a former Virginia quarterback, he brings a wealth of football knowledge to our broadcasts. He has become a very solid broadcaster through his work on the local pregame show with WINA. I look forward to the perspective he will provide.”

Sherman lettered four times for Virginia (1993-96) and was the team’s starting quarterback in 1996. He led the Cavaliers to a 7-5 record and an appearance in the Carquest Bowl that season. He currently ranks tied for seventh on UVa’s list for passing yards in a game with 346 yards against Clemson in 1996. Sherman threw for 1,572 yards that season.

Virginia opens its 2006 season at Pittsburgh on September 2 with kick off set for 7 p.m. Virginia Sports Network coverage begins with an expanded pregame show at 6 p.m.
