Charlottesville, VA – Two ticket packages for Virginia men’s basketball home games during the 2006-07 season are currently on sale.
The “Power Pack” is a six-game package featuring the Cavaliers’ home games with Arizona, Gonzaga, Stanford, Maryland, Duke and Virginia Tech. The package costs $170.
The “Weekend Pack” is a five-game package including UVa’s games at the John Paul Jones Arena with NC State, Wake Forest, Miami, Florida State and Georgia Tech. The package costs $125 and as the name indicates, all five games are weekend games.
On orders placed up to Oct. 25, Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) priority points will be factored into the seating location of these packages after season tickets have been assigned. Season tickets remain on sale.
Individuals purchasing these packages will be invited along with men’s and women’s basketball season ticket holders to the “Countdown to Tip-Off” event at the John Paul Jones Arena on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. “Countdown to Tip-Off” – scheduled on the eve of the men’s and women’s basketball teams’ doubleheader to open their 2006-07 home seasons – is a concert featuring “Earth, Wind & Fire,” the popular R&B musical group, along with bass guitarist Wayman Tisdale. Virginia’s basketball players will also be introduced at the event.
Virginia men’s and women’s season tickets, and the men’s basketball select five- and six-game ticket packages, can be ordered online at virginiasports.com or by calling the UVa athletics ticket office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434/924-8821. Fans can also stop at the athletics ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
On Nov. 12, the women’s team opens its 2006-07 home season against Old Dominion at 1:30 p.m. in the John Paul Jones Arena and the men’s team hosts Arizona at 7 p.m.
