Virginia field hockey student-athletes Inge Kaars Sijpesteijn and Mia Link were both named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey All-Conference team today, as announced by the conference today. This is Kaars Sijpesteijn’s first such honor while it is the third time for Link.

Kaars Sijpesteijn is one of the top two-way players in the nation. The leader of Virginia’s nationally-ranked defense, the native of Wassenar, the Netherlands also ranks second on the Virginia team in scoring and has helped the Cavaliers rank in the top-30 nationally in scoring offense.

Link, who is a member of the USA National Developmental Team, earned her second All-Conference honor after helping Virginia reside in the top-10 nationally in the polls for the majority of the season. Link, who won her second consecutive national championship in July, has started 18 games for the Cavaliers as a striker.

The Cavaliers, the No. 5 seed in the ACC Championships, take on Boston College on Thursday, Nov. 3 in Chapel Hill. The time for the ACC Quarterfinal match is 1:00.
